Finally! I had some time this evening to take some nice photos of our senior does, Romie and JuneBug, and our almost-senior, Carrie. I've taken plenty of "cute" photos, but it's taken me awhile to snap some posed pics of our ladies! Overall, I'm pretty happy with how these turned out - Christmas bokeh is one of my favorite photography effects. However, I do have two recommendations for anyone else who decides to attempt posed outdoor photos of rabbits in the winter...
1. Do not wait until sunset to begin your photoshoot. The sun will fade rapidly and your photos will progressively become darker and blurrier, as your camera tries to compensate for this loss of light.
2. Do not begin the photoshoot with the rabbit who takes the longest to get into a pose. She will use up the natural light hugging the carpet, and by the time she decides to pose you will be scurrying to grab your other easily-posed rabbits before the sun disappears all-together.
In all seriousness, though, the dark is setting in earlier and earlier these days! I'll eventually get some website pics with better lighting for JuneBug and Carrie. I still had fun taking these pics of our girls! Enjoy!

Sky Line's Romie
Romie is very sweet about and tolerant of me messing with her, but she just was not going to sit up for me today! I think she still looks lovely though. And since she's just a couple of weeks away from her due date, we'll take what we can get!
Sky Line's JuneBug
Oh, these photos don't do JuneBug justice! Her coat is stunning, but doesn't always show up well in photos. Like Romie, she wasn't thrilled about posing, but she is also expecting in a couple of weeks. She is such a sweetheart!
B&L Carrie
Carrie's first posed pics! I've had her for about two months now, so these are quite overdue. She's come out of her uglies and I was pleasantly surprised to see how she's coming along. Other than her limb length, she's really a solid little doe and actually reminds me a lot of her great-grandsire! Carrie will turn senior in just a few days.
